Taxes and Restrictions On Persons When Going Through Customs

Taxation On Persons
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport. Travellers should note that they may be required to prove at customs that the goods purchased are for personal use only.
EU member states: 800 cigarettes; 400 cigarillos; 200 cigars and 1kg of tobacco.
Outside the EU: 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco.
EU member states: 10l of spirits; 20l of fortified wine; 90l of wine; 110l of beer.
Outside the EU: 1l of spirits and distilled beverages (more than 22%) or 2l of other alcoholic beverages with an alcoholic strength not exceeding 22%, including sparkling or fortified wine, plus 2l of table wine.
Outside the EU: 50g of perfume and 250ml of eau de toilette.
Foreign Currency
No currency import restrictions.
Export restrictions: up to EUR 634.87. Any excess should be in form of traveller's cheques obtainable on application from any bank. Non-residents can, in addition, export any foreign currency they have imported.
Obligatory Declaration of Foreign Currency
Above 10 000 EUR or its equivalent.
Local Currency
No currency import restrictions.
Export restrictions: up to EUR 190.46
Obligatory Declaration of Local Currency
Above 10 000 EUR or its equivalent.
How to Refund Consumption Tax

Visitors from outside the EU are entitled to get a refund of VAT paid on goods they have purchased during their stay in the EU provided that the goods are produced to Customs on departure from the EU together with the VAT refund documents. These documents are normally prepared by the merchant from whom the goods have been purchased, and the refund is made directly by the merchant, rather than the customs service.
