The report provides guidance on required certificates for food products shipped to Oman. While all possible care was taken in the preparation of this report, information provided may not be completely accurate either because policies have changed since its preparation, or because clear information about these policies was not available. It is highly recommended that U.S. exporters verify the full set of import requirements with their foreign customers, who are normally best equipped to research such matters with local authorities, before any goods are shipped. Section I. Section II. Purpose of Specific Export Certificate(s) See Section I above. Section III. Specific Attestations Required on Export Certificate(s) Only Halal slaughter and FSIS Health certificates are required to be notarized by the Embassy or Consulate of Oman (or any other Arab Embassy or Consulate in the absence of the Oman Embassy or Consulate) in the United States. See Appendix I for certificate samples. Section IV. Government Certificate’s Legal Entry Requirements Original certificates must accompany shipment at the time of entry. Importers may also be allowed to have the documents sent to their banks. Certificates are used for only the accompanying shipment since it carries the details of the shipments. U.S. “State” issued export or health certificates are acceptable Modification to any certificate is not permitted once issued and shipped accompanying the product. Section V. Other Certification/Accreditation Requirements Original invoice, bill of lading and packing list are required to accompany the above-referenced certificates to meet documentation requirements of the Omani Authority for the release of the shipment.
