How to Refund Consumption Tax
For travelers leaving the European Union, it is possible to get a refund of VAT for goods purchased during their stay in the Union on condition that the goods are presented to the Customs Services when leaving the Union with the documents concerning VAT refunds. These documents are generally issued by the seller of the said goods and the refund is carried out by the merchant rather than the Customs Services.
Conditions:
Travelers must prove their residence status (e.g. a non EU passport).
The goods must be exported within 3 months of their date of purchase.
The minimum value of the goods for export is 200 PLN.
