Brazil recently announced the addition 133 items to a list of foreign capital goods and information and telecommunications goods that benefit from reduced or duty-free treatment. This follows the addition of about 250 items in early April, nearly 300 items in mid-March and some 470 items in mid-February. Capital, information and telecom goods may qualify for this special duty reduction only if there is no domestic production of the subject goods.
