Cumulative Value of Imports of Building Products

The following tables show the value of the total imports of building products and the imports of building products from the United States by Harmonized System Code (HS Code). The HS Codes in the tables include most building products, both residential and non-residential, and show trends in both total imports and in imports from the United States.

The Harmonized System Codes (HS Codes), also known as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and shown in the tables below, are the standard international codes used for trade and to categorize products. For example, wooden windows and doors are included in HS Code 4418. Steel, aluminum and vinyl doors are included in HS Code 7308, 7610 and 3925, respectively. For details on HS Codes, please review “2011 U.S. Tariff and Trade Data for a Specific Product” at http://dataweb.usitc.gov/scripts/tariff_current.asp.
