Ukrainian farmers collected 26 million tons of grain
The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine expects grain export boost in August. The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine expects the export of grain enhancing this month as the Director of the Department of Economic Development and Agricultural Market Sergei Kvasha reported on 8 August 2012. "I think that in August, the export will certainly be more than 1.2 million tons, as it was in July, because we will have a full export barley, wheat and last year corn remnants to meet the market needs. I think it will be 1.7-1.8 million tons, but if taking into account the export of corn last year, "- said Mr.Kvasha.
Farmers have collected almost 26 million tons of grain. As of 7 August, Ukraine harvested crops totaling 25.8 million tons. In particular, there are 16.2 million tons of wheat, barley - 7.1 million tons, rye - about 700 thousand tons," - said the official. According to Sergey Kvasha, the quantity of grain in Ukraine is sufficient to ensure the food security of the state.The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine plans to purchase additionally 800 thousand tons of grain in 2012 reports the Ministry of the Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to official data, during the period from 3 to 9 August this year Grain Committee of the European Commission issued a license to export 283 thousand tons of wheat against 135 thousand tons which were allowed to be exported during the previous week. Note that since the beginning of 2012/13 MY (July-June) the total amount of licenses to export wheat from the EU amounted to about 1 million tons, down 21 per cent compared to last year(1.3 million tons).
Grains rise in price. According to experts grains may grow by UAH 100-120 by traders’ purchases in grain elevators by the end of August. "If now the third-class food wheat is purchased on average at 1980 USD per ton it can reach by the end of August at 2100 USD per ton" - predicts Alexander Zhitnik, the head of procurement of "Hermes Trading." The reason for that is a stable sunny and hot weather.The weather conditions in the USA are one of the prerequisites of the decline in grain prices. Moreover, drastically low yield of grain and soybeans, as a result of great drought in the United States can cause social unrest and military conflicts in the Third World.
Ukraine agreed to the terms of delivery of grain and oilseed crops in China. Ukraine and China have agreed on the conditions of supply of Ukrainian grain and oilseeds. The agreements were reached during the next round of bilateral negotiations within the frames of the 28 June, 2012 signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of the Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine and Export-Import Bank of China,- according to the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine.
