Taxes and Restrictions On Persons When Going Through Customs

Taxation On Persons
200 cigarettes - 50 Cigarillos - 10 Cigars.
You can buy 400 cigarettes, 100 cigars and 500g of pipe tobacco at the Turkish Duty-Free shops when you enter the country..
A 100cl bottle and 2 x 75 or 70cl bottles according to the Customs secretariat but buying 5 x 100cl bottles and 7 x 70cl bottles is tolerated.
Five 120ml bottles maximum of eau de cologne, perfume, essence or lotion.
Foreign Currency
No import limit. 5 000 USD or equivalent. For amounts over 5 000 USD, please consult the Turkish Customs secretariat website.
Obligatory Declaration of Foreign Currency
From 7 622.45 EUR or equivalent
Local Currency
Yeni Türk Lirasi - New Turkish Lira, TRY in the ISO classification.

How to Refund Consumption Tax
Shopkeepers stamped TAX FREE give you the documents necessary for VAT refunds (on your request). Present these documents at the TAX FREE counter of the airport when you leave (before going through Customs). Be careful, they can ask you to present the corresponding goods, so you must go to the counter before checking in your baggage.
Other Requirements
Jewelry and precious metals: no formalities up to 15 000 USD, you must declare and justify above this amount.
