Ranking of Cities

Cost of Living
The cost of living in Emirates is relatively high with respect to other Middle East countries. Accomodations in particular have rather high rents.
For a bachelor, it starts from around 2500 EUR per month. For a couple, 4000 EUR and for a couple with two children between 5000 and 7000 EUR.
Quality of Life
Emirates is one of the countries having the best quality of life in the region. Streets are safe and there are numerous activities. Also, big cities of Emirates are trying a little to develop cultural activities. Music shows are regularly organised in big hotels and at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation. Also, many exhibitions of artists take place in commercial centres of Dubai and in Abu Dhabi Foundation. Traffic can be heavy during rush hours and the highly "sporting" manner of driving by people of Emirates can lead to some stress for the Westerners.
Sanitary Conditions
The oil income enables the big cities of Emirates to possess modern and efficient health infrastructures. For several years the Emirates are trying to do research pertaining to renewable energies. A city project not emitting any greenhouse gases is in the process of execution on the Abu Dhabi coast. However, a high level of pollution of the sea and coasts must be highlighted.
