General Information: Wheat MY 2012/2013 (July/June) wheat area is forecast at 160,000 hectares (ha). Total production is forecast at about 832,000 MT. Under this scenario, Croatia would have around 280,000 MT of wheat for export. Corn MY 2012/2013 (October/September) corn area is forecast at 310,000 ha. Total production is expected around 2 million MT, creating a surplus of about 300,000 MT for potential exports. Barley MY 2012/2013 (July/June) barley area is forecast at 50,000 ha or about the same as last year. Production is forecast at 190,000 MT, which will not meet domestic demand; thus imports will likely reach 30,000 MT.
