As of January 1, 2012, Czech Republic no longer requires a non-harmonized certificate for importing pets (dogs, cats, and ferrets).

General Information: As a member of the European Union, the Czech Republic no longer requires a non-harmonized certificate for importing pets (dogs, cats, and ferrets). The EU import certificate is valid starting January 1st, 2012. The previous country specific import health certificate may be used only if not issued later than February 29th, 2012. Animals returning to the Czech Republic travel must travel with a valid Pet Passport. Along with the above mentioned certificate pets imported from the US must have an ISO standard microchip and a valid rabies vaccination. A microchip is not required only if the animal was identified with a tattoo before July 3rd, 2011. Please note that the microchip or tattoo identification must be done prior to the first rabies vaccination. Immunization against rabies must not occur earlier than 21 days before entering the European Union and must be recorded in the appropriate health certificate or pet passport.
