On June 19, 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India amended guidelines regulating quarantine for the import of Litopenaeus vannamei (White Leg Shrimp).

Under the amendment, Indian imports of Litopenaeus vannamei brood stock will no longer be subject to a pre-quarantine test for Baculovirus penaei. The amendment has not yet been notified to the World Trade Organization. General Information: Introduction: On June 19, 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India amended guidelines regulating quarantine for the import of Litopenaeus vannamei (White Leg Shrimp). Under the amendment, Indian imports of Litopenaeus vannamei brood stock will no longer be subject to a pre- quarantine test for Baculovirus penaei. The original guidelines on Litopenaeus vannamei imports were issued on October 15, 2008 (see GAIN IN8132). The amendment has not yet been notified to the World Trade Organization.
