Industry Research: Analysis on China Man-Made Crude Oil Industry

Jiangsu province has most leading man-made crude oil enterprises, and among all top 100 large man-made crude oil enterprises across China, 6 are located in Jiangsu. According to China Man-Made Crude Oil Industry Profile - the industry research report issued by Zeefer Consulting, Jilin, Sichuan and Hebei are the major production bases for man-made crude oil industry in China. Jiangsu, Fujian, Shandong, Hunan, Heilongjiang, Anhui and Henan are the secondary distribution areas for this industry.

In terms of market size, in 2009, man-made crude oil enterprises above designated size achieved a sales revenue of more than USD 350 million. Fujian, Jilin and Shandong ranked top 3 in terms of sales revenue, enterprises in these regions engaged in man-made crude oil production achieved a sales revenue of more than USD 200 million. in all, taking a share of more than 60% of the gross sales revenue from above designated size man-made crude oil enterprises across China. Total assets of enterprises inside man-made crude oil industry exceeded USD 300 million, a rise of more than 10% on a year-on-year basis. The total number of enterprises above designated size in man-made crude oil industry was more than 45, a rise of more than 90% on a year-on-year basis. On an annual average, total employees in man-made crude oil industry exceeded 2,500, an increase of more than 8% on a year-on-year basis.

In terms of industry-wide profit, in 2009, profits of enterprises above designated size in man-made crude oil industry added up to more than USD 7 million, a growth of more than 60% on a year-on-year basis. A total of 10 enterprises suffered a loss, and the total loss of these enterprises amounted to more than USD 7 million. On average, the ratio of return on net assets in man-made crude oil industry was higher than 3%.

In terms of market position of foreign enterprises in China, in 2009, sales revenue from foreign enterprises engaged in man-made crude oil production in China added up to more than USD 100 million, taking a share of more than 35% of the gross sales revenue from man-made crude oil enterprises across China. Foreign enterprises in China man-made crude oil industry achieved a ratio of return on sales of more than -2%, lower than the industry average.
