The main objective of the Health System Development Project II for Nigeria is to improve the maternal and child health (MCH) status in Nigeria. The four components of the project are: a.) rehabilitation and refurbishment of schools of health technology and schools of nursing and midwifery; (b) support services, including the refurbishment and equipping of primary health facilities at the community level, training of health service workers, procurement of drugs and other medical supplies; (c) immunization activities, such as the procurement and repair of the cold chain equipment and training of vaccinators; and (d) strengthening of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and processes at both the State and Federal levels.
This project will generate many attractive bidding and consulting opportunities for U.S. firms. See the following examples of upcoming opportunities:
- Procurement of Goods: Vehicles, Teaching Aids, Printing and HMIS Minimum Packages;
- Works: Construction and Provision of Borehole with Tanks, Construction of Hostel and Office Block, Wall-fencing and Upgrading of PHCs;
- Consultancy Services: Baseline survey on Maternal and Child mortality in the State; and consultancy on Procurement processes and mechanisms.
