I am currently Head of the Fiscal Policies Unit of the Research Department of the Bank of Spain. Before, I was Principal Economist at the Fiscal Policies Division of the European Central Bank and Associate Professor of Macroeconomics at the University Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain) and University Complutense (Madrid, Spain). I hold a Ph. D. in Economics from the latter university (with distinction). My research interests include the macroeconomic aspects of fiscal policies, dynamic models, economic forecasting and European integration. In these fields I have published in international journals, as well as in journals in Spanish and national and international books.
